Useless if the restaurant is slapdash and rude

Every time I’ve ordered using the app, I’ve arrived to find a disorganized mess—and once was accused of “making it up to get free food,” then they found my order sitting on the counter, where it had been the whole time, yet still no apology (2508 Cassopolis St., Elkhart, IN). Reporting a problem gets routed to the store and nothing happens, so unless Taco Bell corporate changes the app to acknowledge and correct recurring problems, cross your fingers, place your order, and hope you aren’t accused of being a thief. UPDATE (responding to developer response): Efforts to reach Customer Care through the website and Twitter invariably led to the case being referred to the local restaurant, which did nothing.

System makes it hard to check out w/o “adding” stuff. And, system had no provisions for altering drink, i.e. extra, light or no ice and/or No Straw.

Does not save time

The restaurant does not prep your order until you arrive, so the “skip the line” idea is a lie. I placed an order at 8:09, and arrived at the restaurant at 8:15 with the lobby closed, and ~10 cars in line for the drive through. I told them I had a mobile order at the speaker, and when I got to the window, they had no idea about the order and told me to pull around front. It was then 8:45. I left after no one came out for another 10 minutes. I haven’t been able to figure out how to get refunded.

Glitchy and unreliable

This app gives me the absolute worst time. If it cannot verify my payment method, it will randomly crash in the middle of reviewing my order. I’d say it works about 2/5 times but ultimately I would rather go inside than fight with this app. I expected better service from an app connected to such a large food chain.

Overcharged (twice) for vegetarian items

This app has been nothing but problems since I installed it. As if you don’t feel ripped off enough having to pay for meat that you have to ask be substituted for cheaper veggies, the app actually charges you more for making items fresco style even though it’s free. It counts making fresco as asking to add tomatoes. Placing orders through the website charges the correct amount. I was livid when I realized I’ve been paying extra. I stick to the website now except for rewards which I end up placing two orders, 1 for the free item alone through the app, the rest on web.

Because the Finder performs no additional processing beyond calling Launch Services, any client using Launch Services for these purposes behaves identically to the Finder.
