Inaccurate, map not up to date

No use at all, they do not keep it up to date and it still takes 30 minutes "on hold" to ring them- app does not help at all.

Well thought out

What a great app! Simple interface and I like the addition of a torch - nice touch.

Can't report outages

Sitting in a queue waiting to report the power has just gone out you get bombarded with adverts for this app. Thinking it would save me from the rest of my 22 minute wait in the queue I downloaded it. Unfortunately without outage reporting or the ability to report downed power lines to save the crews looking for them it's not that useful. Sure you can look and see if your powers out, but it's simpler at nighttime to just look out of the window at the darkness all around.

Pointless

Pointless! App showing no outages, website showing no outages! After a long wait on the phone - was told there was an outage. Still no update on app

Pointless

Currently have a power outage but the Vector App says there are no current outages in my area. So I phoned Mercury. Yup, power outage. Phoned Vector, they say no outage. Checked Vector App, it says no outage in my area. Phoned Mercury again, they say Vector are working in restoring power in my area. Checked the Vector App...no outage.

Awesome App

This is a great app that's super handy - you can bookmark locations like your work, home or even your mother-in-laws - then check on the power outage and then get updates!
Protobuf
Protocol Buffers (a.k.a., protobuf) are Google's language-neutral, platform-neutral, extensible mechanism for serializing structured data.
protobuf-c

Core Audio
Core Audio is the digital audio infrastructure of iOS and OS X. It includes a set of software frameworks designed to handle the audio needs in your applications. Read this chapter to learn what you can do with Core Audio.

GameplayKit Framework
GameplayKit is a collection of foundational tools and technologies for building games in iOS, OS X, and tvOS. Building, evolving, and maintaining a sophisticated game requires a well-planned design—GameplayKit provides architectural tools to help you design modular, scalable game architecture with minimal effort. Creating great games also requires deploying complex algorithms to solve the problems underlying common game mechanics—GameplayKit also provides standard implementations of such algorithms, allowing you to spend more time on the features that make your gameplay unique. Because GameplayKit is independent of high-level game engine technologies, you can combine it with any of those technologies to build a complete game: SpriteKit for 2D games, SceneKit for 3D games, or a custom or third-party game engine using Metal or OpenGL ES. For games with less demanding graphics needs, you can even use GameplayKit with UIKit (in iOS or tvOS) or AppKit (in OS X).

Metal
Render advanced 3D graphics and perform data-parallel computations. Get fine-grained access to the GPU while minimizing CPU overhead. The Metal Framework provides extremely low-overhead access to the GPU, enabling incredibly high performance for your sophisticated graphics rendering and computational tasks. Metal eliminates many performance bottlenecks—such as costly state validation—that are found in traditional graphics APIs. Metal moves all expensive state translation and compilation operations out of the critical path of your most performance sensitive rendering code. It provides precompiled shaders, state objects, and explicit command scheduling to ensure that your application achieves the highest possible performance and efficiency. Graphics, compute, and blit commands can be used together seamlessly and efficiently. Metal is specifically designed to exploit modern architectural considerations, such as multiprocessing and shared memory, to make it easy to parallelize the creation of GPU commands.
SceneKit
SceneKit is an Objective-C framework for building apps and games that use 3D graphics, combining a high-performance rendering engine with a high-level, descriptive API. SceneKit supports the import, manipulation, and rendering of 3D assets. Unlike lower-level APIs such as OpenGL that require you to implement in precise detail the rendering algorithms that display a scene, SceneKit only requires descriptions of your scene’s contents and the actions or animations you want it to perform.
SpriteKit
SpriteKit provides a graphics rendering and animation infrastructure that you can use to animate arbitrary textured images, or sprites. SpriteKit uses a traditional rendering loop where the contents of each frame are processed before the frame is rendered. Your game determines the contents of the scene and how those contents change in each frame. SpriteKit does the work to render frames of animation efficiently using the graphics hardware. SpriteKit is optimized so that the positions of sprites can be changed arbitrarily in each frame of animation.
Swift
The powerful programming language that is also easy to learn. Swift is a powerful and intuitive programming language for macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS. Writing Swift code is interactive and fun, the syntax is concise yet expressive, and Swift includes modern features developers love. Swift code is safe by design, yet also produces software that runs lightning-fast.
