Mobile deposit extremely frustrating

The main interest for me with this app is mobile deposit. Unfortunately after about 30 frustrating minutes I have to say that it just doesn't work. It doesn't seem it can read even a clear and brightly lit photo. I've used mobile deposit elsewhere and know how to do it.
